Autumn is my favourite fashion season as I love wrapping up in cosy jumpers, snug cardigans, warm joggers and fluffy socks. New Look has recently unveiled its new season collection, and a few days after browsing the impressive range online, I found myself in my local store trying on numerous items.

This year's autumnal shades, which include burgundy, chocolate brown and mink, are truly stunning. I was thrilled to discover that New Look offers a variety of pieces in these fashionable hues - within minutes of entering the store, I had selected several items.

The first item that grabbed my attention was the Blue High-Waist Cargo Jeans priced at £34.99 that are available in multiple colours and a range of sizes and lengths. My usual preference is skinny or flared jeans, however, it seems the Noughties are making a comeback with wide-leg cargo jeans officially back in fashion this autumn.

Not only do these jeans look chic, they're incredibly comfortable as well. Some shoppers mentioned online that the jeans tend to run small, but I didn't find this to be the case, with my regular size fitting me perfectly. The high waist design ensures they sit comfortably over my hips and the fabric feels lightweight, making them easy to move in despite being made from sturdy, good-quality denim.

I love the variety of pockets and detailing on the jeans, including a funky twisted denim strap on one side of the jeans. I plan on wearing the High Waist Cargo Jeans throughout the autumn and winter seasons with jumpers, cardigans, converse and chunky boots.

This includes the £29.99 Mink Ribbed Half Zip Knit Jumper which enveloped me in warmth and comfort as soon as I tried it on in the changing room. It complemented the jeans perfectly, and I appreciated its versatility in styling.

For those colder days, you can zip up the jumper for a cosy high neckline, or leave it unzipped with the sleeves rolled up to reveal a long-sleeved top underneath. The jumper is also available in cream, black and grey, and caters to sizes six to 22. Despite my fondness for it, one New Look customer noted 'lots of static' on the website, although this wasn't an issue I encountered.

There were numerous other New Look jumpers that piqued my interest, such as the Off-White Merci Two-Tone Jumper. Its bold charcoal grey lettering and trim caught my eye on the rail, and it appears I'm not alone in my admiration, as it boasts a five-star rating online.

As I'm naturally pale, I usually steer clear of white or cream hues as they tend to make me appear ghostly. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this particular jumper didn't wash me out.

Retailing at £29.99, the jumper is available in sizes ranging from small to extra large and boasts a relaxed fit. Not only does it look fabulous on its own, I believe it would pair well with a roll-neck long-sleeve top underneath for added warmth.

The final item I decided to purchase was the Grey 'Boston' Knitted Half Zip Jumper, priced at £34.99. This piece feels like a blend of the previous jumpers I mentioned, as it can be zipped up to offer a high neckline similar to the Mink Jumper, and it's essentially the colour reverse of the Merci Jumper, featuring a similarly bold font.

What I particularly adore about this jumper is the ribbed cuffs and hem, which add an extra touch to the cosy garment. I paired the Boston Jumper with the Burgundy Pintuck Wide Leg Drawstring Joggers, as the colours complemented each other beautifully and I appreciated the practicality of the trouser pockets. Unfortunately, the joggers were a tad too short for my preference, so I decided to leave them behind.

There were numerous other pieces from New Look's autumn collection that caught my eye, including the Dark Brown Textured Press Stud Shacket costing £42.99. As I already have a few shackets in my wardrobe, I couldn't justify purchasing it, but I'm certain it will become a staple for many this autumn.
