A cleaning gadget that I recently put to the test, which left my carpets looking like new, has had its price slashed by £100. Shark has kicked off its early Black Friday sale and the Shark CarpetXpert HairPro Pet Deep Carpet Cleaner is now available at a tempting discount, dropping from £349.99 to £249.99.
I used the cleaner on my own carpets, which were showing signs of wear and tear due to my dog, and was thoroughly impressed. Out of the box, it resembles a vacuum cleaner, albeit slightly heavier.
It comes with five attachments for the StainStriker tube, as well as a bottle of StainStriker and CarpetXpert cleaning formula. The setup process is quite straightforward, with a comprehensive instruction manual to guide you through it.

Alternatively, if you're tech-savvy, there's a QR code you can scan to watch 'how to' videos. Attaching the tube is simple and filling up the tanks is pretty self-explanatory - just make sure to put the correct liquid in each compartment, plug it in, and you're ready to go.
When I first emptied the dirty water tank, I was simultaneously shocked, repulsed, and amazed. A large clump of hair had gathered in the filter section, surrounded by murky water (I'll spare you the picture as it's a bit unpleasant), reports the Mirror.
Regular vacuuming of the carpets revealed a shocking amount of dog hair hidden within, but the Shark cleaner managed to extract it with ease. Each time the tank was emptied, the amount of hair collected was surprising, suggesting that even a powerful vacuum had been unable to remove it.
Shark boasts that its cleaner can remove "three times more pet hair than any upright carpet cleaner" and "instantly removes stains and odours with 20 times more stain striking power". However, the hose design was less impressive, as it kept falling off during use.
After a few instances, it became easier to disconnect it while using the main machine and reattach it when needed. The tank size is also not very large, requiring frequent refills of water and cleaning solution, as well as regular emptying of the dirty water tank.
In anticipation of Black Friday, Shark has reduced the prices of many of its popular gadgets, as retailers vie for attention during the biggest shopping event of the year.
Other notable discounts include the Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Stick Pet Vacuum Cleaner, reduced from £279.99 to £169.99, and the StainStriker Stain and Spot Cleaner, down from £149.99 to £99.99.
Meanwhile, Amazon has discounted the Vax Dual Power Pet Advance Carpet Cleaner from £119 to £99.99, boasting a 4.3-star rating from over 4,000 reviews.
The Bissell SpotClean Pet Cleaner, priced at £148.98 on Amazon, has received rave reviews, with one customer stating: "I bought this for pet stain removal. I used it on my sofa too and was amazed how good it came up. For a small cleaner, it's great." For those who prefer not to purchase a carpet cleaner outright, many supermarkets, including select Asda and Tesco stores, offer Rug Doctor rentals.
