During the four-hour program, the 54-year-old American broadcaster and journalist remained on the show for ninety minutes and left without any clarification.
After her unexpected and sudden departure, co-anchor Craig Melvin took over the show and informed the audience that Savannah would soon be back to fulfil her duty.
He said, “Savannah had to leave a little early. She’ll be right back tomorrow, though.”
Notably, this happened just a few weeks after her return to the NBC morning show, as she had taken a break from the show for two months after her mother, Nancy, was abducted earlier this year.
For those unaware, Nancy was last seen at her residence in Catalina Foothills, Arizona, on January 31, 2026, while she was reported missing on February 1 after she missed a scheduled check-in.
It is pertinent to mention that a video captured at her doorbell camera showed a masked man standing at her doorstep holding a gun; however, nothing has been found in the investigation regarding the kidnapper nor have Nancy’s whereabouts been found.
