by Surendhar M · GaadiWaadi.com2025 KTM 390 Adventure R will likely be introduced in India before the end of this year and it gets a host of revisions compared to the outgoing model
KTM has unveiled the new generation 390 Adventure series at the 2024 EICMA show in Milan. It comprises three motorcycles the regular Adventure R, Enduro R and SMC R. The trio take plenty of inspiration from the latest higher capacity advs from the Austrian manufacturer as the mechanical bits and bobs as well as the design are brand new.
The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R features vertically positioned LED projector lamps, a tall transparent windscreen, a front beak, minimalistic body panels and a compact rear end. Underpinned by a new steel trellis chassis, it is suspended on WP-sourced fully adjustable USD forks at the front and an offset monoshock at the rear.
The motorcycle is equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire spoked wheels wrapped in tubed tyres while the braking hardware includes front and rear disc brakes assisted by a dual-channel ABS system. The equipment list is certainly packed as it comes with a coloured TFT instrument console with Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation, ride-by-wire throttle, bi-directional quickshifter, switchable ABS, traction control and much more.

As for the performance, the new 399 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine is borrowed from the latest 390 Duke and is paired with a six-speed transmission. We do expect the new Adventure R to launch before the end of this year in India but whether the 390 Enduro R and SMC R will be considered for the local market or not is yet unknown.
The all-new Adv R will compete directly with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The new-gen KTM 390 Enduro R is designed to go off-roading and it comes with a slim hexagonal headlamp assembly with a sharp cowl, a tall front fender, all LED lighting, a flat and narrow seat setup, a side-mounted exhaust system and more.

It shares the suspension, powertrain and braking hardware with the Adventure R and Supermoto siblings but the tuning could be slightly different. The 2025 KTM Supermoto R has several similarities with the Enduro R visually but its tyres and wheels are different.
