Tata Motors is all set to launch three all-new electric SUVs with 4×4 drivetrain in the Indian market. The upcoming Tata 4×4 electric SUVs in 2025-26 will include the Harrier EV, Safari EV and Sierra EV. The brand has already launched the EV version of four of its ICE cars namely Tiago, Tigor, Punch and Nexon.
The most recent EV launch from Tata Motors was the all-new Curvv which was introduced in both EV and ICE avatars. Hence, it already has the widest EV portfolio among its rivals in India. Now, with the arrival of three more electric SUVs, Tata Motors will further revolutionise the EV segment.
1. Tata Harrier EV
The Harrier, showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, will finally be launched by March 2025 in the Indian market, confirmed the Mumbai-based homegrown automaker. Tata Harrier EV will be positioned above the Curvv EV in the brand portfolio while it will get significant styling updates over the regular Harrier SUV. Underpinning the Acti.EV platform of Punch EV, the e-SUV will get both vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging features.

Tata Harrier EV will use a 60 kWh battery pack which is expected to return a range of 500+ km on a single charge. We have learnt that an electric motor will be mounted on each (front and rear) axle with a 4×4 drive system. Expect the Harrier EV to cost around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom) as it rivals Mahindra XUV.e8 in India.
2. Tata Sierra EV
Tata Motors has announced the launch of Sierra EV in FY 26 (April 2025 – March 2026) in the Indian market. We believe that the all-new Tata Sierra EV will launch in the second half of 2025, ahead of the festive season. The Sierra EV debuted in concept form nearly five years back at the Auto Expo 2020 while a pre-production model was unveiled last year at the Auto Expo 2023.

To be based on Tata’s Gen2 EV platform, the e-SUV will take styling cues from the original Sierra SUV of the 90s such as square-shaped wheel arches, high-set hood, and curved over rear side windows. Tata Sierra EV is expected to house a 45 kWh/55 kWh battery pack with a single electric motor to achieve a range of 550 km on a single charge. It will also support ultra-fast DC charging.
3. Tata Safari EV
Tata Motors will also launch the 7-seater Safari SUV with an electric 4×4 drivetrain. Identical to the Harrier, it will also use the brand’s Gen 2 electric architecture. It is expected to be unveiled in the first half of 2026 after the Harrier EV and Sierra EV go on sale in the Indian market. Tata Safari EV could become the brand’s flagship electric SUV with price starting around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Safari EV design will be on the similar lines as the Harrier EV. The e-SUV is expected to get a similar battery pack and range as the Harrier EV and Sierra EV. We expect more details to emerge in the coming months.
