Here we have brought you a rundown of the 4 possible new Volkswagen SUVs that are expected to launch within the next 2 years in India

Volkswagen India is expected to bring in a host of new SUVs within the next two to three years and here we have explained about the possible arrivals:

1. Volkswagen Tayron:

Last week, Volkswagen unveiled the global-spec Tayron after its debut at the 2024 Beijing Motor Show earlier this year. Essentially a seven-seater version of the latest Tiguan, which had its world premiere late last year, the Tayron serves as a replacement for the Tiguan Allspace in several markets including Europe. It features numerous updates compared to the five-seater Tiguan and will likely launch in 2025 in India.

2. Volkswagen Taigun Facelift:

The Taigun midsize SUV is part of the brand’s local push to garner volumes through the India 2.0 project and it has fairly succeeded. Based on the heavily localised MQB A0 IN platform, the VW Taigun has been well received by customers and considering the strong competition, it is due for a mid-cycle update.

It will get an updated exterior and interior while new features including Level 2 ADAS technology will be included. However, no performance changes are likely as the familiar 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol engines will be utilised, paired with manual and automatic transmission choices. It is expected to launch in late 2025 or early 2026.

3. Volkswagen Compact SUV:

Skoda Kylaq

Skoda is preparing to introduce the Kylaq compact SUV in early 2025 and it will mark the brand’s entry into the compact space in nearly a decade. Likewise, VW will use the synergy with its Czech cousin to bring in a sub-four-metre SUV taking design inspiration from the Taigun. It will also be powered by the 1.0L three-cylinder turbocharged mill.

4. Volkswagen Taigun EV:

VW Taigun

Volkswagen Group is focused on introducing a more affordable version of the MEB platform, known as CMP 21, which was developed in China and will likely be used to launch various electric vehicles under the Skoda and Volkswagen brands. Its cost-efficiency and quick development timeline make it a strong contender for the Indian market. If implemented, Volkswagen and Skoda could not only meet upcoming stringent emission regulations but also compete in the growing midsize e-SUV segment as the variations of the Taigun and Kushaq could be electrified around 2027.
