New Kia Carnival Deliveries Begin In India, Leasing Starts At Rs. 1.49 Lakh

A few weeks ago, Kia India launched the global fourth-generation Carnival premium MPV with prices starting at Rs. 63.90 lakh (ex-showroom) in the domestic market. It debuted alongside Kia’s flagship EV9 electric SUV. Kia has now begun deliveries of the Carnival, with the first unit handed over to cricketer Suresh Raina.

The South Korean auto major has released the leasing prices for the Carnival and the EV9 as well. The premium MPV, available in two variants, can be leased for Rs. 1.49 lakh per month and the leasing marker is set at Rs 3 lakh per month for the EV9 which is sold only as a six-seater in India and is brought into the country via CBU route.

Kia has announced flexible leasing options for the Carnival, allowing customers to select lease terms of two, three, four, or five years. Additionally, mileage plans are available with choices of 10,000 km, 15,000 km, and 20,000 km per year to suit varying usage needs. It must be noted that Kia also offers its regular product range with leasing options.

The new Kia Carnival features a host of premium equipment including a panoramic curved display integrating the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch instrument console, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, second-row powered seats with ventilation and leg support, a one-touch power sliding door, dual sunroofs, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with 33 features and much more.

The Kia Carnival is equipped with a 2.2L four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine as its predecessor, producing 200 PS of maximum power and 440 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The deliveries for the Kia EV9 will commence early next year and it currently costs Rs. 1.3 crore (ex-showroom) for the GT-Line AWD trim.

The EV9 is powered by a 99.8 kWh battery pack, which operates alongside a twin electric motor setup. The combined power output stands at 384 hp and 700 Nm. In India, the flagship SUV boasts a claimed driving range of 561 km per charge. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.3 seconds. The DC fast charger helps the battery to replenish from 10-80 per cent in just 24 minutes.
