MG Windsor EV Becomes India’s Top Selling EV In Its First Month

JSW MG Motor India reported impressive October 2024 sales for its newly introduced MG Windsor, moving 3,116 units of the CUV and capturing almost 30 per cent of the month’s total passenger electric car sales. Overall, the company experienced a 31 per cent year-on-year increase with a record-breaking 7,045 units sold, marking its highest monthly sales since inception.

In October 2024, MG’s EVs made up 70 per cent of the company’s total sales. The MG Windsor EV received an overwhelming response on its debut booking day, racking up an impressive 15,176 reservations within just 24 hours. Deliveries of the electric crossover utility vehicle commenced in sync with the Dussehra celebrations.

The MG Windsor EV, based on the Wuling Cloud EV, is competitively priced, starting at Rs. 9.99 lakh. For customers interested in the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, a rental option is available at Rs. 3.5 per km. For those choosing to buy the vehicle with the battery included, prices start from Rs. 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

It is powered by a 38 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with an IP67 certification. The e-motor delivers 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of peak torque. The Windsor EV offers four driving modes: Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport. With an ARAI-claimed range of 332 km on a full charge, it is available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence.

The MG Windsor EV is offered in four exterior paint options: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green. Adding to its appeal, MG includes a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner and a year of free public charging through the eHUB by MG app. Customers also benefit from an assured buyback option, with a 60 per cent resale value guaranteed after three years or 45,000 kilometres.
