Upcoming 2025 Auto Expo will be the perfect ground for car manufacturers to showcase BEVs. New electric cars expected from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, etc

Electric vehicles are currently the talk of the town and a bunch of car manufacturers in the Indian market are planning to launch new EVs. The upcoming Auto Expo 2025 which is set to kick start from January 17 seems to be the perfect arena for the brands to reveal their new all-electric models. In line with this, we will see the highest number of EV launches at the auto show and Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra as well as JSW MG will likely join the electric bandwagon.

The leading car manufacturer in India, Maruti Suzuki, is set to debut in the electric vehicle segment with the eVX. Expected to measure around 4.3 metres in length, it will target the mid-size electric vehicle segment. The eVX electric SUV is expected to be priced at around Rs. 15 lakh and will come with a claimed range of over 400 kilometres on a single charge.

Hyundai Motor India Limited will also debut in the mass market EV segment with the Creta EV. Riding high on expectation of ICE Creta, the electric SUV will square off with the Maruti eVX. In addition to this, the IONIQ 6 premium EV and a mass-market EV concept are also on the cards for the 2025 Auto Expo.

Tata Motors, the current leader in the EV segment is expected to showcase a slew of new EVs at the auto show. These include the likes of Harrier EV, Sierra EV and the final production version of Avinya EV could also be a part of the showcase.

Mahindra & Mahindra will also join the electric bandwagon with a series of born electric cars. While the Indian SUV maker’s participation at the auto show is not confirmed, the company could reveal the production-spec XUV.e8 which is due for a launch in early 2025. In addition to this, the XUV.e9, BE.05 and BE Rall-E are expected to be showcased at the event.

JSW MG Motor India recently launched the Windsor EV in the Indian market and at the 2025 Auto Expo, the Bingo electric hatchback will likely be showcased. The EV will be positioned between Comet EV and Windsor EV, rivalling the likes of the Tata Tiago EV.

VinFast, the Vietnamese EV manufacturer has confirmed its participation at the 2025 Auto Expo. It will be showcasing multiple models including the VF6, VF7, VF8 and VF9. The Chinese EV manufacturer BYD is expected to showcase its most affordable electric car for India, the Seagull.

In the luxury electric vehicle segment, Mercedes-Benz is expected to launch the all-electric version of the G-Class, the G580. The electric SUV will be powered by a 116 kWh battery pack paired with 4 electric motors. The power output figures of the electric G580 stand at 580 bhp and 1164 Nm of peak torque.
