Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to debut its first dedicated electric SUVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e, on November 26, 2024, at the Unlimit India event in Chennai. The BE 6e, derived from the BE.05 concept, and the XEV 9e, inspired by the XUV.e9 concept with its distinctive coupe-like roofline, will likely be launched soon after their debut.
On a new teaser video, the exterior of both e-SUVs has been revealed. Both models showcase Mahindra’s future design direction with striking elements like prominent LED daytime running lights and connected light bars atop an upright front fascia. Their sporty profiles are emphasized by a steeply raked front windshield, short overhangs, and a spacious greenhouse.
Both SUVs maintain their high-riding stance, reinforcing their SUV character with large aero-styled alloy wheels and pronounced wheel arches. Leveraging their generous dimensions, they will include panoramic sunroofs. Key interior features include a flat-bottom steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a distinctive triple-screen layout, compounding the premium appeal.

Built on the dedicated INGLO skateboard platform, the Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e benefit from wheels positioned at the extremities, optimizing space and battery placement beneath the floor. This design ensures roomy interiors and substantial boot capacity. Details on powertrain options are yet to be confirmed, but the possibility of both single and dual electric motor configurations being offered does exist.
The Mahindra BE 6e is set to challenge the recently launched Tata Curvv EV, featuring a Valeo-sourced electric motor delivering 231 hp and 380 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. It will offer two battery options: a 60 kWh pack and a larger 79 kWh pack, with the latter expected to provide a WLTP-certified range exceeding 450 km.

On the other hand, the XEV 9e may pave the way for an ‘XEV 8e,’ derived from the XUV.e8 concept, in the near future. It will have plenty in common with the ICE XUV700.
