Here’s a rundown of all the available details on these upcoming midsize SUVs, highlighting their features, performance specs and expected launch timelines:

1 & 2. 7-Seater Maruti Grand Vitara & Toyota Hyryder:

The three-row versions of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are set for an H1 2025 launch in India. Like their five-seater counterparts, these models are expected to offer both 1.5L mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid petrol engines. Buyers may get a variety of transmission options, including both manual and automatic choices, making these models available across a broad range of trims.

The three-row variants of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will feature distinct design changes from their five-seater versions. An increase in overall length is anticipated to fit the third-row seating, although it’s still unclear if the wheelbase will also be extended. These models are expected to incorporate advanced features and technologies including Level 2 ADAS.

3 & 4. 7-Seater Renault & Nissan SUVs:

These future SUVs might take inspiration from the globally launched Bigster, which is available with multiple powertrain options including hybrids and they could launch as early as 2026. However, the Indian versions are likely to use the engines designated for the upcoming Duster slated to arrive sometime next year.

As the spotlight turns to midsize electric SUVs in 2025, Renault and Nissan are making a notable shift back into the midsize ICE segment.
