Free-To-Play RPG 'The New Denpa Men' Is Ending Service Later This Year

by Jim Norman · Nintendo LifeGenius Sonority, the developer and publisher behind the 2024 free-to-play RPG The New Denpa Men, has announced that it is wrapping up the game's service later this year.
The game's regular service will end on 7th December at 8pm GMT / 9pm CET / 12pm PT / 3pm ET, with all in-game data such as Jewels and items no longer being available — the studio recommends you use any paid Jewels before things come to a close, though it sounds like some refunds will be available.
"We sincerely apologize to all of our players for this sudden announcement," a dev message on the game's website reads. "Since the launch of the service, we have worked every day to bring you a better game," it continues, "However, we have concluded that it will be difficult to continue providing a service that meets your expectations, and we have decided to end the service."
Genius Sonority wrapped things up by thanking players for their support over the last two years, and apologised, again, for the things shutting up shop so soon.
We had a perfectly fine time with The New Denpa Men on Switch back in 2024, calling it "a great light JRPG for anyone looking for a basic introduction to the genre," in our review, but feeling it was let down by its simplicity and the usual free-to-play trappings.
It landed a Switch 2 version earlier this year, with improved visuals and performance tweaks to boot, though that release will have only been around for eight short months before things wrap up.
