Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro Unveiled with 11.2" 144Hz LCD Display
by Marco Lancaster · GizchinaAfter many teasers, Xiaomi finally took the wraps off its Xiaomi 15 series today. The new smartphones come with the excellent Snapdragon 8 Elite and many innovative features to impress for the 2025 season of flagships. Of course, we had a big event today and Xiaomi had more to offer besides the new flagship smartphones. As expected, the company also took the wraps off its Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro. These sit on the flagship level, but to keep price control, we have the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 instead of the latest Snapdragon CPU.
Xiaomi Pad 7 and 7 Pro Specifications
Both the Xiaomi Pad 7 and the 7 Pro feature the same 11.2-inch LCD screen with a 3,200 x 2,136 resolution. Both have the same 3:2 aspect ratio, 144 Hz refresh rate, and 800-nit peak brightness. As confirmed by the most recent leaks Xiaomi kept the LCD screen on both tablets. Some old rumors were pointing to the use of OLED in the Pro model, but that didn’t happen. Xiaomi is keeping LCD for both models for another year. Perhaps, we may see OLED in the next generation.
Both tablets also have the same 8,850 mAh battery, which is not the largest around but is still decent for a device of this category. Interestingly, the vanilla model charges at 45W, whereas the Pro variant charges at 67W. Considering the size of the battery, fast charging is welcome. They also come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
Gizchina News of the week
In terms of optics, the Xiaomi Pad 7 comes with a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front-facing camera. It’s a modest setup but that’s enough for most users keeping in mind that this is a tablet. The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, on the other hand, has a more impressive 50 MP rear camera and a 32 MP front-facing shooter.
Both tablets run on Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2.0, which presumably runs on top of Android 15, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
