Exynos 2500 Could Power All Next-gen Samsung Galaxy Foldable Phones

Samsung’s plans for its next-generation Galaxy foldable phones are starting to take shape. Rumors suggest that the Galaxy S25 series will likely feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. However, there’s still hope for Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500.

Recent reports indicate that the Exynos 2500 could power Samsung’s foldable devices in 2025. This comes after the company faced challenges with the yield rate of its 3nm wafers. That has supposedly made it difficult to integrate the chip into the Galaxy S25 series on time.

Despite the setback, Samsung has continued to invest in the development of the Exynos 2500. This suggests that the chip could still be a significant part of Samsung’s future mobile strategy, particularly for its foldable devices.

Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices are poised to get a significant performance boost. According to reports, the Exynos 2500 could power all of the company’s foldable phones in 2025.

This includes the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The chip could power foldable devices as well. That includes the rumored tri-fold phone and the affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.

The Exynos 2500 is expected to offer impressive performance thanks to its advanced 10-core CPU architecture. This includes:

• A trio of powerful Cortex-X925 cores
• Five efficient Cortex-A725 cores
• Two energy-saving Cortex-A520 cores

Samsung’s Exynos 2500 will also equip the Xclipse 950 GPU. It will be an upgrade over the predecessor and could deliver smooth and immersive gaming experiences.

It will be interesting to see how the Exynos 2500 compares with Snapdragon 8 Elite. The past Exynos flagship SoCs didn’t have much luck in this case. Most of the Galaxy S-series users with Exynos phones had complaints about thermals and performance. But Samsung appears to be optimistic about the Exynos 2500.
