A TUI flight attendant opened up about the three mistakes she often sees passengers making.

Mrs Miva, from Germany, took to TikTok to educate people as "too many people still do these things". Her pet peeves include how passengers choose to sleep and walk around in the cabin.

And in the comments section, many were shocked to learn they'd been making the faux pas without realising. So have you ever been guilty of any of these travel sins?

1. Never use deodorant or hairspray

Mrs Miva explained that this "could trigger the smoke detector in the lavatory", leading to cabin crew fearing there was an emergency on board.

Instead of using spray deodorants, try opting for roll-on options instead. Then when it comes to your hair, you may want to apply non aerosol products like gels or mousse.

2. Never fall asleep on the window

It may feel like the comfiest option if you have a window seat, but falling asleep on the window isn't a good idea for hygiene reasons.

Mrs Miva said: "(Don't) lean your head against the window. They are very rarely cleaned." Instead, we'd recommend investing in a neck pillow and lying straight back on your seat.

Alternatively, use an antibacterial wipe to clean windows before resting your skin against them.

3. Never go to toilet without shoes on

It goes without saying that toilets aren't the best place to be walking around in without your shoes on. The unidentified fluid on the floor isn't always just water.

Mrs Miva urged: "(Don't) go to the lavatory with socks or barefoot. The water on the floor was not used for cleaning."
