Larry Lamb, famed for his role in Gavin and Stacey, delivered a comical on-air caution to co-star Alison Steadman during her appearance on Friday's edition of This Morning.

Alison, aged 78, graced the ITV programme to discuss her new memoir Out Of Character, which inevitably led to conversation about the much-loved BBC series Gavin & Stacey, set to grace screens this Christmas with an eagerly anticipated special.

Before Alison's interview commenced, This Morning aired a clip from Larry, aged 77, who had appeared on Good Morning Britain the previous day.

In the message, Larry remarked: "Hello sweetheart, here we are again in front of the camera, right? I'm on Good Morning Britain today on Thursday. You're on This Morning Friday.

"You're going to get the same interrogation I'm getting I'm sure, everybody wants to know about Gavin & Stacey, what's gone on and we all know... sealed lips, alright? Have a lovely day!" reports WalesOnline.

Reflecting on the conclusion of filming and whether it was an emotional experience, Alison shared: "It was, it was because we all love it so much! We had a great time being back together and that final wrap, I mean!"

When queried if she plans to watch the Christmas special, Alison confirmed: "Yeah, I will! " Further pressed on whether she had seen the episode already, she confessed: "No, we only finished it on Monday night! I think there's going to be a cast and crew screening, I think, but even so I can't watch it yet!"

Gavin & Stacey first graced our screens in 2007, wrapping up in 2010. To the delight of fans, it made a comeback with a Christmas special in 2019 and is now set to return for another festive treat this December.

In the much-loved BBC sitcom, Mathew Horne stars as Gavin Shipman, Joanna Page as Stacey Shipman, James Corden as Neil "Smithy" Smith, Ruth Jones as Vanessa "Nessa" Jenkins, Larry Lamb as Michael "Mick" Shipman, and Alison Steadman as Pamela Andrea "Pam" Shipman.

The cast also includes Rob Brydon as Brynfor "Uncle Bryn" West, Melanie Walters as Gwen West, and Sheridan Smith as Ruth "Rudi" Smith.

Amidst the excitement, Larry dropped hints about the finale of the show's last-ever episode when he joined Good Morning Britain to discuss his new series Curfew and the Gavin & Stacey experience on Thursday, fresh from filming in Barry Island.

While conversing with hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid, Larry disclosed that, in an unusual turn of events, the final scene they shot was also the episode's concluding scene. He shared: "You become a family... it was a whole trip down memory lane because suddenly there we are and we are facing the fact that effectively this is the end of this adventure, the end of this journey and it was so emotional."

Larry revealed: "Chronologically we were filming on the last day, on the last day of filming, we were filming the end of the story which is so unusual... the end comes bursting out at you and it is just beautiful, really beautiful."

Speculation continues to build as the cast remain tight-lipped about the happenings in the very last episode, leaving fans eagerly awaiting to discover if Smithy will accept Nessa's proposal.

This Morning airs on ITV weekdays at 10am and on ITVX
