The charity has issued the call for more numbers ahead of expected demand for its services.

With the pressures of the cost-of-living crisis and energy prices adding to the traditional winter worries, a local charity is calling for more volunteers to help them provide services to those in need.

Stirling Citizens Advice Bureau has put out the call for new volunteers to come forward for training to become advisers as the charity anticipates a "very high" level of demand.

Anyone can volunteer with no qualifications necessary and the CAB's team training will help those interested to become a confident adviser with a constantly updated information system to work with.

The Stirling team hope to recruit volunteers who reflect the community they serve and they hope people of all ages and backgrounds will be interested in getting involved.

The CAB adviser training programme for advisers starts on Friday January 10.

The training comprises three months of Friday morning taught sessions in person (from 10-2pm) and 30+ online modules which you can access in your own time.

Once the training has progressed volunteers will be expected to come into the Bureau to shadow other advisers for at least three hours per week.

After the training is complete, there would be a minimum time commitment of six hours per week delivered either on one full day or two half days per week advising the public.

The advice service is open for this 10–3pm Monday to Thursday.

If you would like to volunteer, please go onto the following link and complete an online submission: stirlingcab.org.uk/volunteer.

Alternatively, you can contact volunteer coordinator Janet Taylor on email: Volunteering@StirlingCAB.casonline.org.uk.

The closing date to return completed applications will be Friday 15th November.
