GMK EVO-X3 mini PC with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and up to 128GB RAM launches this month
by Brad Linder · LiliputingThe GMK EVO-X3 is a compact workstation with a 16-core, 32-thread processor, discrete-class integrated graphics, and plenty of I/O including an OCuLink port for an external PCIe 4.0 connection to a graphics dock or other add-ons.
First revealed earlier this year, the EVO-X3 will be available for “early access registration” on June 22, ahead of a global launch on June 29th.
At launch, the computer will be available with an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 Strix Halo processor, up to 128GB of RAM, and a choice of 2TB or 4TB of storage. But GMK plans to offer a Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 version in the future with support for up to 192GB of memory.
For the most part the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and Max+ PRO 495 chips are pretty similar, but the 400-series version supports slightly higher CPU, GPU, and NPU frequencies. The most significant upgrade though, is support for 50% more memory.
| Cores / Threads | Max Boost freq | Cache | GPU | Memory | NPU | |
| Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 495 | 16 / 32 | 5.2 GHz | 80MB | Radeon 8065S (40 CUs, up to 3 GHz) | Up to 192GB LPDDR5-8533 | 55 TOPS |
| Ryzen AI Max+ 395 | 16 / 32 | 5.1 GHz | 80MB | Radeon 8060S (40 CUs, up to 2.9 GHz) | Up to 128GB LPDDR5-8000 | 50 TOPS |
Both models are expected to be roughly the size of a PlayStation 4, making them a little large by mini PC standards… but still pretty small compared to a typical desktop tower.
While RAM is soldered to the mainboard, the computers have two M.2 slots for user-replaceable PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage plus a MediaTek RZ717 wireless card with support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 and three fans for active cooling.
Ports including HDMI 2.1, OcuLink, and full-function USB4 ports with support for 40 Gbps data transfer speeds, video output, and 100W power input.
GMK hasn’t announced how much the EVO-X3 will cost yet, but given the high prices for other models with the same processor and the rising prices for memory and storage, I’d be surprised if this thing came in at under $2500.
