MILAN, Feb 9 : Twice world champion Jutta Leerdam delivered the Netherlands their first gold medal of the Milano Cortina Olympics on Monday by winning the women's speed skating 1000 metres crown in a new Olympic record time.

Fellow Dutchwoman Femke Kok and Japan's most decorated female Olympian Miho Takagi took silver and bronze respectively.
