Deliveroo to cease operations in Singapore after Mar 4
The platform's parent company DoorDash is also ending its food delivery services in Qatar, Japan and Uzbekistan as part of a broader review of its international portfolio.

SINGAPORE: Food delivery platform Deliveroo will exit the Singapore market, with its last day of service on Mar 4.
The company announced on Wednesday (Feb 25) that it would begin "an orderly wind-down process".
“This is a difficult decision and follows a review of country-specific conditions, and our focus on investing where we see the clearest path to sustainable scale and long-term leadership,” Deliveroo said on its website.
“Deliveroo will work closely with local teams to support customers, partners and riders through the transition."
When asked about the number of employees affected by the closure, Deliveroo said "the whole team in Singapore will be impacted".
"We will be engaging individuals directly on the support available to them and will ensure all processes are handled in line with local regulations and company policies," it said in response to CNA's queries.
Deliveroo said its decision to exit Singapore was part of a broader review of the company’s international portfolio.
Its parent company, US firm DoorDash, announced in a separate press release that it was ending food delivery services in Qatar, Japan and Uzbekistan as well.
“These decisions follow a multi-month review of country-specific conditions and reflect DoorDash’s continued focus on investing where it sees the clearest path to sustainable scale and long-term leadership,” it said.
It added that the company was also implementing "limited operational changes" in select locations, including investing in certain engineering roles in the United Kingdom.
DoorDash acquired its British rival Deliveroo in May 2025, in a deal valued at US$3.85 billion. The acquisition was aimed at helping DoorDash grow its market share in Europe, competing against Just Eat and Uber Eats. Britain, Ireland, France and Italy are among Deliveroo's major markets.
Deliveroo entered Singapore in November 2015.
When asked about customers with existing subscriptions, Deliveroo advised them to contact its care team for a refund.
"Over the last eleven years, we have been proud to help shape food delivery in Singapore, giving consumers access to a wide variety of restaurant and grocery partners, said head of DoorDash International and CEO of Deliveroo Miki Kuusi.
"To all of the employees, customers, partners, and riders who have been on this journey with us and supported us along this journey – thank you.”
The National Delivery Champions Association (NDCA) is in contact with Deliveroo's management to ensure that platform workers continue to receive their earnings in accordance with the regular payment cycle.
"We encourage affected members to approach NDCA so that we can assist them with payment-related issues, transitioning to other delivery platforms, or exploring permanent employment opportunities," said the association's executive secretary Andy Ang and the Singapore Manual & Mercantile Workers' Union's (SMMWU) secretary-general Andy Lim.
They noted that Deliveroo is a non-unionised company, and it has not formally recognised NDCA.
Nevertheless, affected workers who are Singaporeans or permanent residents can tap on NTUC's e2i (Employment and Employability Institute) for job matching, career coaching and skills upgrading.
Eligible union members of SMMWU and NDCA can also tap the Union Training Assistance Programme to offset training costs should they require skills upgrading, they added.
