Samsung unveils Freestyle+ portable projector

Ahead of CES, today Samsung has unveiled the Freestyle+ projector, which is portable. It comes with a peak brightness of 430 ISO lumens, which isn't much - basically fine for a dark room but won't let you see a lot if there's ambient lighting around.

That said, it is almost twice as bright as Samsung's previous generation, so there's that. The Freestyle+ has a 180-degree rotating design which supports projection at virtually any angle, including onto walls, ceilings, and even floors, without any additional accessories being required.

It boasts a built-in 360-degree speaker, "tuned to produce richer, fuller audio in a compact design". It can even work in sync with compatible Samsung soundbars via Q-Symphony, to create "a more layered and cohesive sound experience wherever it is used", according to the official press release.

The Freestyle+ comes with 3D Auto Keystone, automatically correcting distortion even when projecting onto uneven or non-flat surfaces like corners, curtains, or angled walls. Real-time Focus continuously adjusts focus as the projector moves or rotates, maintaining a clear, stable image without blurring or visual noise. Screen Fit automatically adjusts the image to match the screen area when used with a projector screen. Wall Calibration analyzes the color or pattern of the projection surface and minimizes visual distractions for clearer viewing.

The Freestyle+ will become available starting in the first half of 2026. It will be showcased at Samsung's exhibition space at CES. Pricing is still a mystery.
