Major Euston rail disruption across Easter weekend

There will be almost no trains to or from London Euston station over Easter due to engineering work.

Between Good Friday (3 April) and Wednesday 8 April, Avanti services will terminate at Milton Keynes Central instead, as Network Rail replaces a major bridge, upgrades signalling and renews infrastructure.

Replacement buses will run between Milton Keynes and Bedford where passengers can take a train to London St Pancras.

Network Rail's Jake Kelly said: "Bank holidays are also among the least busy times on the railway, and the four-day period at Easter gives us a valuable opportunity to complete projects that simply can't be delivered during a normal weekend."

He added: "Passengers will see some changes and it's a good idea for people to check before they travel."

A small number of London Overground Lioness Line services from Euston will partially operate on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Elsewhere on the railway, there will be a reduced service between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction due to the renewal of switches and crossings.

On the London Underground, there will be no Hammersmith and City line services over the four days of the Easter weekend while the Bakerloo line will be disrupted between Stonebridge Park and Harrow and Wealdstone.

On the DLR there will be no service between Bank and Tower Gateway and from Poplar to West India Quay between Good Friday and 8 April.
