Leaked test results from Galaxy S26 Ultra's new 60W charging fail to impress
by Peter · GSMArena.comInternal testing has shown that Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s new 60W charging can fill the battery from 0% to 75% in 30 minutes, reveals Ice Universe. This was tested under laboratory conditions, whatever those were (presumably controlled room temperature).
That doesn’t sound particularly impressive for a 15W increase over the Galaxy S25 Ultra. As a reminder, in our review of the S25 Ultra, we saw a 72% charge after 30 minutes.
And yes, the S26 Ultra is supposed to have a bigger battery, though rumors suggest it will only go up to 5,200mAh (+200mAh compared to the 2025 model). A word of caution before you get your hopes up: there are some conflicting reports and some suggest that the battery capacity will remain at 5,000mAh for this year’s Ultra.
Samsung recently launched a brand new 60W charger in preparation for the upcoming flagship, which all but confirmed the new charge rate. This next part hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there’s talk of a wireless charging upgrade too – from 15W to 25W – and magnetic cases.
P.S. the 60W upgrade applies only to the Ultra. The S26 and S26+ are expected to stay at 25W and 45W, respectively.
