Galaxy Z Fold 8 leaked battery specs suggest big upgrade
by Justin Diaz · Android HeadlinesWhen it comes to foldable smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold lineup is among the most popular, but one area where it could stand to use some improvement is with the battery, and newly leaked specs of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 battery point to such an improvement. This would be a huge benefit for users who weren’t happy with the battery performance of past Galaxy Z Fold devices.
In fact, battery capacity and battery life were two of the things that we said needed improvement in our Galaxy Z Fold 7 review. Samsung appears to be taking notes from consumers who have purchased the phone, and is looking to make some adjustments with the next device model.
Leaked Galaxy Z Fold 8 battery specs point to significantly larger battery capacity
With the battery no the Galaxy Z Fold 7 being a little disappointing, it’s refreshing to see Samsung actually making a change here. According to leaked specs from Galaxy Club (via SamMobile), Samsung is putting a larger battery capacity inside the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The specs claim that it will be a 5,000mAh battery. This would be a big upgrade over the 4,400mAh battery inside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and could help it last longer in a single charge cycle.
That is, of course, assuming the leaked specs end up being true. This is also not the first time that rumors have suggested there might be a larger battery on the way. Back on March 6, rumors were suggesting the use of a 5,000mAh battery. So, really this new leaked info supports that rumor.
It’s also supposed to come with a lighter design. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 wasn’t exactly a super heavy phone, so this should be an interesting change if it’s accurate. While a larger battery would be a welcomed change, so would faster charging. The leak doesn’t mention this detail, though.
