Xiaomi HyperOS 4 Global Beta Launches: Supported Devices & How to Apply

A month after its exclusive debut in China, Xiaomi’s highly anticipated HyperOS 4 beta program is finally making its way to international users. The tech giant has officially initiated the global beta rollout, initially targeting a select trio of premium smartphones, with plans to expand the roster to additional models later this month.

A Phased Global Release

The HyperOS 4 global beta will be distributed across seven specific smartphone models in a two-phase rollout. Recruitment is already actively underway for the first wave of devices. Users who own hardware slated for the second round will be able to apply for the beta program starting on September 17th.

Currently, the rollout is geographically restricted to models carrying the Global and EEA (European Economic Area) ROMs. However, Xiaomi is expected to incorporate additional regions into the testing phase in the coming weeks.

First Round (Recruitment Currently Live):

Second Round (Recruitment Begins September 17th):

How to Join the Beta Program

Because beta testing slots are often limited, interested users are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as their device becomes eligible.

To apply, users must navigate through the official Xiaomi Community app:

  1. Open the Xiaomi Community app.
  2. Go to the ME tab.
  3. Select Beta testing.
  4. Tap on Recruiting test and fill out the required information.

Once an application is reviewed and selected, the user will receive the HyperOS 4 beta software via a standard Over-The-Air (OTA) update.

Proceed with Caution

As is standard with all pre-release software, the HyperOS 4 beta builds are strictly intended for testing and are highly likely to contain bugs, system instabilities, and performance errors.

Xiaomi strongly advises all participants to comprehensively back up their important data before initiating the upgrade. Furthermore, users should be aware that downgrading is not a seamless process; reverting to the stable HyperOS 3 ecosystem will require users to manually flash their devices, a process that wipes all local data.
