iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and Air 2 Specs and Prices Leaked Ahead of Spring 2027 Launch

Following an unconventional hardware cycle in late 2026 that prioritized the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple’s inaugural foldable, the iPhone Duo, the tech giant is shifting its standard device releases to the spring. A new leak from industry insider Digital Chat Station (DCS) indicates Apple is targeting a March or April 2027 launch window for its remaining smartphone lineup: the standard iPhone 18, the entry-level iPhone 18e, and the second-generation iPhone Air 2.

The standard iPhone 18 will introduce a modernized 6.3-inch OLED display, bringing a 1.5K resolution and a fluid 120Hz refresh rate to the mainline series. Retaining the familiar Dynamic Island and Face ID architecture, the device will be powered by Apple’s next-generation 2nm A20 chipset. The hardware upgrade extends to a larger battery capacity and a 48-megapixel dual rear camera system. However, this hardware boost will likely carry a premium. The leak suggests a price increase is imminent, a credible claim given Apple’s recent pricing strategy; in September, the company implemented a $100 hike across existing older inventory following the discontinuation of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Currently, the iPhone 17 retails for $899, leaving the base iPhone 18 poised to push the standard pricing tier even higher.

For budget-conscious consumers, Apple is preparing the iPhone 18e. This entry-level iteration focuses strictly on internal refinement rather than a design overhaul. It will retain the 6.12-inch, 60Hz OLED display of its predecessor and a single 48-megapixel rear camera. Under the hood, it shares the 2nm A20 silicon with the standard model and introduces an upgraded 24-megapixel front-facing camera for sharper video calls and selfies.

At the premium end of this spring lineup is the iPhone Air 2, which pushes Apple’s ultra-thin design language further. The device will reportedly feature a razor-thin 5.2mm profile while accommodating a 6.55-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It steps up processing power with the A20 Pro chipset and integrates Apple’s proprietary networking hardware, including the N2 wireless chip and C2 modem. The Air 2 will also feature a larger battery and a dual 48-megapixel rear camera array.
