Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm Specs Leaked: Massive Battery Boost and 3,000-Nit Display
by Marin · NokiamobMonths after the debut of the 46mm Xiaomi Watch S5, newly leaked specifications have detailed an upcoming 41mm variant of the smartwatch. The new wearable utilizes Xiaomi’s proprietary HyperOS rather than Google’s Wear OS, a strategic software choice that trades a broad third-party app ecosystem for significantly extended battery life.
Design, Display, and Battery Upgrades
The Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm features a stainless steel chassis that measures 9.9mm thick, a slight increase from the 9.5mm profile of the previous Watch S4 41mm. This added thickness directly accommodates a massive battery upgrade. The new model packs a 590mAh battery, nearly doubling the 320mAh capacity of its predecessor. Xiaomi rates this setup for up to eight days of normal use and up to 14 days in power-saving mode.
The smartwatch retains the 1.32-inch OLED screen and 466 x 466 resolution of the older generation, but introduces a major display upgrade with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The device also maintains a 5 ATM water resistance rating.
Sensors and Connectivity
On the health and fitness front, the Watch S5 41mm is equipped with an optical heart rate monitor, a compass, a barometer, and three temperature sensors designed specifically for menstrual cycle tracking.
Outdoor tracking is supported by a dual-band positioning receiver compatible with GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, and QZSS. Device connectivity is handled via Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 6 (ax), and NFC.
Lineup Comparison and Leaked Pricing
The leaked 41mm model serves as a more compact alternative within Xiaomi’s current wearable portfolio. The existing Watch S5 46mm is thicker at 11mm and includes a 1.48-inch display and an 815mAh battery. Consumers looking for the full Wear OS experience are limited to the standard Xiaomi Watch 5, which lacks a 41mm option and features a bulkier 12.3mm profile, a 1.54-inch screen, and a 930mAh battery.
According to retail leaks from Czechia, the Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm is expected to launch at CZK 5,469 (approximately €240). If accurate, this creates an unusual pricing dynamic where the smaller watch is significantly more expensive than the larger 46mm model, which launched at CZK 3,999 and is currently retailing for CZK 3,699 (€152).
