Vivo X500 Ultra Launch Timeline and Massive Camera Upgrades Revealed
by Kreso · NokiamobAs we look ahead to the next generation of super-flagships, fresh leaks have shed light on the highly anticipated Vivo X500 Ultra. Expected to hit the market in early 2027, the upcoming device promises to push the boundaries of mobile photography, processing power, and battery endurance.
According to the prominent tech tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), Vivo is tentatively scheduling the X500 Ultra for a March or April 2027 launch. This timeline closely follows the company’s established release cycle, mirroring the March 2026 debut of its predecessor, the X300 Ultra.
At the heart of the Vivo X500 Ultra will be Qualcomm’s next-generation silicon, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 (model SM8975). To complement this massive processing power, the device will reportedly sport a stunning 6.85-inch BOE LTPO display.
Users can expect a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate paired with a crisp 2K+ resolution. Moving away from dramatic curves, the design points toward a premium LIPO flat display characterized by symmetrical bezels, elegantly rounded corners, and a seamless under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for rapid biometric authentication.
While Vivo has built its “Ultra” reputation on unmatched camera capabilities, the exact photographic hardware for the X500 Ultra is still undergoing rigorous prototyping. Recent reports indicate that Vivo’s engineering team is actively testing a massive 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. The company is currently experimenting with three different sensor sizes for this zoom lens—1/1.12-inch, 1/1.3-inch, and 1/1.4-inch—before finalizing the optimal configuration.
The primary camera is equally ambitious. Leaks suggest Vivo is weighing two distinct options for its main shooter: a custom 50-megapixel 1/1.28-inch LOFIC sensor with a specialized 35mm focal length, or a staggering 200-megapixel 1/1.12-inch LOFIC sensor.
To ensure the high-refresh-rate display and powerhouse cameras don’t compromise longevity, the Vivo X500 Ultra is rumored to feature a colossal battery capacity of around 7,000mAh. If accurate, this would set a new endurance benchmark for premium, photography-focused flagship smartphones.
With several months to go before its targeted spring 2027 release, these specifications are subject to final adjustments. However, the early blueprints suggest Vivo is determined to maintain its crown in the ultra-premium Android market.
