HMD Vibe 2 coming; HMD 102 and Nokia 110 Power are here

HMD’s phone lineup is getting new members again, and this time we have a mix of upcoming smartphones and already listed feature phones.

According to smashx_60 on X, HMD Vibe 2 4G and HMD Vibe 2 5G are on the way, with the 4G model expected first, possibly already in May. A second teaser also points directly to the HMD Vibe 2 4G, so this should be the model we see before the 5G version.

For now, there is no official HMD page for the Vibe 2 series, so we should treat this as early information. Still, the Vibe name already tells us a lot. The original HMD Vibe was an affordable smartphone made for basic everyday use, so the Vibe 2 series should continue in the same direction.

What is more official is the arrival of two new feature phones: HMD 102 and Nokia 110 Power.

The HMD 102 is now listed on HMD’s global website. It is a simple phone with calls, texts, a camera, MP3 player, wireless FM radio, MicroSD support and a 1000 mAh battery. HMD says it can offer up to 8.9 days of standby time, which is exactly what many users still expect from a basic phone. It also supports Text-to-Speech, which is useful for accessibility.

Then there is the Nokia 110 Power, also listed officially. As the name suggests, this model focuses on battery life. It now comes with a large 1750 mAh removable battery, offering up to 15 days of standby and over 14 hours of talk time. The phone keeps the classic feature phone formula, with a 2.0-inch display, simple keypad design and essential features. It includes a QVGA camera with LED flash, MP3 player, wireless and wired FM radio, 3.5 mm headphone jack and MicroSD card support up to 32 GB. Overall, the Nokia 110 Power is built for users who want a durable, long-lasting phone for calls, music and basic everyday use. I must say I like the looks of 110 Power.

Yes, HMD’s feature phone lineup is becoming confusing. We recently had HMD 100 and HMD 101, and now HMD 102 joins the list, while Nokia-branded models continue alongside them. But the idea is clear. HMD is covering the very basic phone market with both its own name and the Nokia brand untill NOkia fades away completely.

The Vibe 2 series should bring more attention (in developing markets at least) because it belongs to the smartphone side of HMD’s portfolio. The feature phones, however, show that HMD is still not giving up on the simple phone segment, especially in markets where battery life, low price and easy use still matter more than apps and big screens.
