Oppo K15s and K15x Launched: Massive 8,000mAh Batteries and IP69K Durability

Oppo has quietly expanded its mid-range K-series smartphone portfolio in China with the K15s and K15x, two new models prioritizing extreme battery capacity and structural durability. Arriving shortly after the high-profile launch of the flagship Find X10 lineup, these budget-friendly devices join the existing K15, K15 Pro, and K15 Pro+ to round out the company’s mid-tier offerings.

The Oppo K15s leads the new duo, built around a massive 8,000mAh battery engineered for longevity. Oppo claims the battery retains at least 80% of its capacity after 2,000 charge cycles—translating to roughly seven years of standard use. Beyond endurance, the K15s is highly ruggedized, boasting IP69K, IP69, IP68, and IP66 certifications alongside 15 military-grade environmental tests under the GJB150A-2009 standard.

Performance on the K15s is driven by a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max processor, paired with LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, and a 4,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system. The front of the device features a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,400 nits of peak brightness, and an integrated optical fingerprint scanner. Imaging is handled by a 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor, both supporting 1080p recording at 60fps.

The more affordable Oppo K15x trades the AMOLED panel for a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display operating at 120Hz. While it steps down to a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, it still packs an exceptionally large 6,500mAh battery with the same 45W SuperVOOC and UFCS fast-charging support found on the K15s. Durability remains a focus through an IP64 rating and Oppo’s diamond anti-drop architecture. The K15x features a 13-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel selfie shooter, and functional hardware extras like a 3.5mm headphone jack and expandable storage.

Both devices are currently exclusive to the Chinese market, with global availability yet to be announced.
