Honor has officially pulled the curtain back on MagicOS 11 at its Global Developer Conference. Built on the foundation of the newly minted Android 17, the operating system represents a significant leap forward for the brand, prioritizing a refined aesthetic, formidable artificial intelligence capabilities, and ultra-smooth daily performance.

The “Liquid Glass” Revolution and Under-the-Hood Speed

The most striking update to MagicOS 11 is its visual overhaul, driven by a new “liquid glass” design language. To achieve this dynamic, translucent aesthetic without sacrificing speed, Honor developed the interface atop its proprietary Luminous and Hummingbird architectures. This dual-engine approach optimizes both AI processing and overall system efficiency.

Despite the resource-intensive translucent effects, Honor claims that system animations are up to 20% faster compared to the outgoing MagicOS 10. Customization options have also been significantly expanded. Users can now freely tint their home screen icons and dock to match their personal style, complementing the fully refreshed widgets and menus.

Yoyo Gets Smarter: A 100-Step AI Powerhouse

Artificial intelligence is the cornerstone of modern mobile software, and Honor is heavily upgrading its native Yoyo assistant to compete. The revamped AI can now intelligently navigate over 1,000 distinct scenarios and seamlessly integrate with more than 10,000 third-party services (primarily within the Chinese market).

Most impressively, Yoyo is no longer limited to simple, single-action prompts. The assistant has been engineered to execute highly complex, multi-step automated tasks that require up to 100 individual actions—drastically reducing the friction of repetitive smartphone routines.

Reclaiming Storage and Breaking Down Ecosystem Walls

Beyond aesthetics and AI, MagicOS 11 introduces highly practical quality-of-life improvements:

• Storage Space 2.0: This new feature utilizes advanced lossless compression technology, which Honor claims can safely liberate up to 60GB of internal storage space.
• Enhanced Connectivity: The company is actively breaking down ecosystem barriers. A public beta program is already live for 18 eligible models, including:
