Vivo X500 Pro Max Global Battery Size Revealed: A Massive Downgrade?

Following their official debut in China, the Vivo X500 smartphone series is gearing up for a global launch anticipated in November or December. However, recent certification filings suggest international buyers might receive significantly reduced battery capacities compared to the Chinese market models.

Entries on the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL) database have surfaced, detailing three upcoming Vivo models: the V2621, V2622, and V2610. According to earlier leaks and certifications, the V2621 aligns with the global Vivo X500 Pro, while the V2610 represents the top-tier Vivo X500 Pro Max.

The most striking revelation from the EPREL database is the battery specifications. The V2610 (expected to be the global X500 Pro Max) is listed with a rated battery capacity of 6,570mAh. Even factoring in a higher “typical” marketed capacity of around 6,800mAh, this represents a massive downgrade from the massive 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery featured in the Chinese version. Conversely, earlier hands-on reviews indicated the global Pro Max variant would only see a minor reduction to 7,800mAh, creating some ambiguity ahead of the official launch.

The V2621, presumed to be the global X500 Pro, is listed with a rated capacity of 6,305mAh, which translates to a typical capacity of around 6,510mAh. This would mean the international Pro model retains parity with its Chinese counterpart.

The identity of the third model, the V2622, remains a mystery. While an IMEI database entry previously linked this model number to the X500 Pro, its EPREL-rated battery capacity is a paltry 5,180mAh (roughly 5,300mAh typical). This is drastically smaller than the Chinese market’s standard Vivo X500, which boasts a 7,500mAh cell.

The EPREL filings also confirmed other uniform specs across the global lineup, including non-foldable form factors, IP68 dust and water resistance, and “A” energy-efficiency ratings. Battery endurance per cycle is rated at 64 hours 31 minutes for the V2621, 53 hours 40 minutes for the V2622, and 72 hours 5 minutes for the V2610.
