Built to Last: Honor X8e 4G Pairs 2.5m Drop Resistance with a Huge Battery
by Kreso · NokiamobHonor has expanded its rugged, battery-centric X series with the quiet launch of the Honor X8e 4G. Targeting power users and those working in demanding environments, the new entry-level smartphone blends extreme durability certifications and a massive battery with a high-resolution primary camera.
The Honor X8e is built around a spacious 6.87-inch TFT LCD display featuring an HD+ resolution (1,592 x 720 pixels), a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,020 nits. Under the hood, it relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 685 processor and an Adreno 610 GPU, paired with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. To aid with background multitasking, the device utilizes RAM Turbo technology to deliver a virtual memory experience expanding its capabilities. The software side is handled by MagicOS 10, based on Android 16.
Despite its entry-level positioning, the X8e houses a 108MP primary rear camera with an f/1.75 aperture, accompanied by a secondary auxiliary lens. While the high-resolution sensor supports 8x digital zoom and AI Image to Video 2.0 capabilities, video recording is capped at 1080p due to the chipset’s inherent limitations. A standard 5MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
The smartphone’s true standout features lie in its endurance and physical resilience. It packs an enormous 7,700mAh battery supported by 45W Honor SuperCharge technology for rapid top-ups. Built to withstand the elements, the device carries an IP69K rating for high-pressure water and dust resistance, alongside standard IP68 and IP69 certifications. Honor also secured an SGS Premium Performance 5-star impact resistance rating, claiming the handset can survive drops from up to 2.5 meters in controlled laboratory tests without shattering.
Measuring 168.3 x 78.54 x 8.3mm and weighing 218.5g, the device includes a dedicated AI button for quick tool access. Connectivity options are standard for its class, featuring dual Nano-SIM 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC.
Currently available in select markets like Azerbaijan, the X8e comes in three colorways: Sunrise Orange, Desert Gold, and Velvet Black. Local retailers have priced the single 6GB/256GB configuration between AZN 688 (approximately $400) and AZN 820 ($480).
