Honor Play 11: The Ultimate Budget Phone with an 8,300mAh Battery

Honor is aggressively expanding its budget-friendly smartphone portfolio with the launch of the Play 11 in China. Joining the existing Play 11 lineup—which includes the 11C, 11T, Plus, and Pro variants—this latest addition is laser-focused on users who demand extreme battery life and uncompromising structural integrity at an entry-level price point.

Honor Play 11: Extreme Durability and Battery Life

The defining characteristic of the Honor Play 11 is its endurance. The device houses a colossal 8,300mAh battery (with a rated capacity of 7,900mAh). Honor claims this power cell is engineered to retain optimal health for up to six years under standard conditions. When it does need a top-up, it supports 45W wired fast charging, alongside wired reverse charging to act as a power bank for other devices.

Matching its internal endurance is a highly ruggedized exterior. The Play 11 boasts an impressive trifecta of ingress protection—IP68, IP69, and IP69K—making it highly resistant to dust, water, and even high-pressure, high-temperature liquid jets. Furthermore, the phone holds an SGS Gold Label five-star certification for drop and compression resistance, reportedly surviving falls from heights of up to 2.5 meters. Despite this ruggedness, the device maintains a relatively standard footprint at 168.3 x 78.54 x 8.30mm and weighs 216.5 grams.

Performance and a Dedicated AI Button

Under the hood, the Play 11 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It runs on MagicOS 10.0, based on Android 16.

In a surprising move for a budget device, Honor has integrated a dedicated physical AI button on the side of the chassis. A single press can instantly identify and dismiss intrusive pop-up windows, offering a cleaner browsing experience. The button also triggers Honor’s “Any Door” feature, remote assistance tools, and a novel AI face-swap detection system. Biometric security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Display, Cameras, and Multimedia

The front of the phone is dominated by a 6.872-inch TFT LCD panel. While the resolution sits at a modest 1592 x 720 pixels, it features a fluid 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a peak brightness of 1,020 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM). Honor has also integrated DC dimming and specialized eye-comfort modes to reduce fatigue during extended use.

For photography, the setup is straightforward: a 50-megapixel primary camera (f/1.8) on the rear and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter (f/2.2) on the front. Audio gets a significant boost via stereo speakers equipped with a high-volume mode, capable of amplifying output by up to 400 percent for noisy environments. Connectivity covers all modern essentials, including 5G, dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC.

Currently launched exclusively in China, the Honor Play 11 is available in four finishes: Desert Gold, Mist Purple, Meteor Silver, and Phantom Black. Honor has not yet confirmed plans for an international release.
