Motorola unveils Moto G Max with Dimensity 6400 and 5200mAh battery

Motorola has officially launched the Moto G Max, expanding its mid-range lineup with a phone that puts a strong emphasis on screen quality, imaging, and battery life. The new model arrives with a large AMOLED display, a high-resolution main camera, and a design that also highlights durability, making it one of the more ambitious additions to the Moto G family.

At the center of the package is a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness rated at 5000 nits. Motorola is also using Gorilla Glass 7i for added protection, which helps position the phone as a more premium offering within the series.

Photography is another major focus. The Moto G Max features a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera that also handles macro duties. On the front, users get a 32MP selfie camera, giving the device a specification sheet that clearly aims to stand out in the mid-range segment.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It also supports microSD expansion up to 2TB, which should appeal to users who want extra room for photos, videos, and apps without relying only on internal storage.

Battery life should also be one of the Moto G Max’s strong points. Motorola has equipped the phone with a 5200mAh battery and 33W TurboPower wired charging, while the software side is handled by Android 16 out of the box.

The phone also includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an in-display fingerprint reader, face unlock, and broad protection ratings including IP68 and IP69. In some reports, the device is also associated with MIL-STD-810H durability, reinforcing Motorola’s effort to position it as a tougher everyday phone rather than just a spec-heavy one.

As for pricing, the Moto G Max has launched in Brazil at 2,519.10 Brazilian reals. That pricing places it firmly in the upper mid-range bracket, where Motorola appears to be betting that its combination of display, camera, storage, and durability will help it stand out.
