Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra Set for Upgraded Privacy Display

by · Nokiamob

Samsung is reportedly preparing to expand Privacy Display beyond its Ultra smartphones, with the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra expected to receive an improved version of the technology.

According to SamMobile’s latest report, both models will also offer increased display brightness. The standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+, however, are said to miss out on Privacy Display, keeping the feature exclusive to the two most premium models in the upcoming lineup.

Samsung has not officially announced these specifications, and the precise improvements to the privacy technology remain undisclosed.

Privacy Display Could Make Its First Appearance on a Pro Model

The Galaxy S26 Ultra introduced Privacy Display earlier this year. The feature restricts side-angle visibility, making sensitive information harder for nearby people to read while keeping the screen visible to the person using the phone. It can be activated manually or configured for particular applications and notification pop-ups.

Bringing an upgraded version to the Galaxy S27 Pro would mark a change in Samsung’s approach. Rather than reserving the technology for the Ultra alone, the company would offer it across two models.

The reported expansion would also give the Pro another feature in common with Samsung’s top-tier handset. Earlier reporting had already suggested that the Galaxy S27 Pro could combine Ultra-like specifications with a smaller display.

What the next-generation Privacy Display will do differently is still unclear. The supplied report does not specify whether Samsung is improving viewing-angle restrictions, adding controls or changing how the feature operates.

Brighter Screens Are Also Expected

Alongside the privacy upgrade, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are reportedly in line for higher display brightness, with improved readability in direct sunlight.

No brightness figures or measurement conditions have been provided for this latest claim. It is therefore too early to quantify the improvement or determine whether it applies to peak brightness, sustained brightness or a particular operating mode.

The report also does not establish whether the increase is directly connected to the upgraded Privacy Display or represents a separate panel enhancement.

Galaxy S27 and S27+ Reportedly Left Out

The standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are not expected to receive Privacy Display, according to the report.

If that division reaches the final products, privacy would become another distinguishing feature between the regular Galaxy S models and the more expensive Pro and Ultra variants.

The technology would therefore become more widely available within Samsung’s flagship range without becoming a standard feature across the entire family.

Camera Rumours Point to Further Pro and Ultra Similarities

Display technology may not be the only area in which the Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra converge. Earlier reports have linked both phones to a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 16MP front-facing camera. A previous camera leak specifically mentioned the 50MP ultrawide and 16MP selfie specifications for both models.

Telephoto hardware could remain a point of separation. The supplied report suggests the Pro may use a 10MP or 12MP telephoto camera, while the Ultra is expected to feature a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

Those details remain unsettled. An earlier report instead listed a 50MP telephoto camera for the Pro, illustrating the inconsistencies between pre-launch camera claims.

For now, the clearest reported development concerns the displays: Samsung could extend its privacy technology to a second flagship model while introducing an upgraded implementation. The exact improvements—and the final differences between all four Galaxy S27 models—still await official confirmation.
