Honor X9e Pro Launches with 11,000mAh Battery & Rugged Build

Honor has officially unveiled the X9e Pro in the Malaysian market, delivering a midrange smartphone that pushes the boundaries of hardware resilience and battery endurance. Positioned as a heavily fortified daily driver, the new device merges extreme durability with competent performance, headlined by an unprecedented 11,000mAh battery and a display capable of reaching 10,000 nits of peak brightness.

The launch signals Honor’s aggressive push to capture consumers who demand long-term reliability and rugged features without migrating to niche, utilitarian handset brands.

At the forefront of the X9e Pro’s engineering is its comprehensive survival rating. The phone achieves IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, rendering it impervious to high-pressure dust and water ingress. Honor claims the device can survive drops from up to three meters and remain fully functional when submerged in up to 10 meters of water under controlled conditions. This aquatic resilience is paired with a dedicated underwater camera mode, leveraging the device’s 108-megapixel primary sensor.

The optical array is anchored by this 108MP main shooter, which features optical image stabilization (OIS) alongside CIPA 6.0 stabilization technology for exceptionally steady 4K video recording. A 5-megapixel ultrawide lens rounds out the rear camera module, while a 16-megapixel front-facing sensor manages video conferencing and selfies.

Visually, the X9e Pro is dominated by a 6.8-inch AMOLED display fortified by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Beyond its class-leading 10,000-nit peak brightness—designed for flawless legibility in extreme direct sunlight—the panel delivers a 2788 x 1280 resolution, a fluid 120Hz refresh rate, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, paired with 8GB of physical RAM. Honor supplements this with its proprietary RAM Turbo technology, allowing the system to allocate internal storage to expand available memory up to 24GB. Consumers can configure the device with either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

Endurance is the X9e Pro’s most prominent selling point. The massive 11,000mAh power cell is engineered for remarkable longevity, with Honor stating the battery is designed to maintain optimum health for up to six years under standardized testing conditions. When it does need a top-up, the phone supports 80W wired fast charging and can act as a power bank itself via 27W reverse charging. Connectivity remains thoroughly modern, encompassing 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, dual Nano-SIM support, and standard GPS, all routed through a USB Type-C 2.0 port.

Functionally a localized variant of the Honor X80 Pro Max recently released in China, the X9e Pro is rolling out with highly competitive pricing. In Malaysia, the base 8GB/256GB model is priced at MYR 1,899 (approximately $465 USD), with the 8GB/512GB tier coming in at MYR 2,399 (roughly $590 USD).

The smartphone is available in four colorways: Royal Purple, Midnight Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown. Early adopters who pre-order by October 8 will receive up to MYR 1,626 (~$400 USD) in bundled hardware, including an Honor Tab X7 tablet. With the Pro series now breaking out of domestic markets, an expanded global rollout is expected to be detailed in the coming weeks.
