Upcoming ‘Secret Level’ Anthology Gets New ‘Armored Core’ Trailer
by Ollie Barder · ForbesWith the Secret Level anthology series just around the corner, we now have a new trailer for its Armored Core segment.
Officially, this mini-episode on Armored Core is meant to be entirely standalone and unrelated to any previous game in the series.
However, the new trailer (shown below) suggests that this could be set in the same timeline as Armored Core VI, albeit a bit before the game’s events.
In addition to this, there’s also a hidden trailer with a small scene with Keanu Reeves’ character talking to a woman, seemingly in his head.
This could be Ayre from Armored Core VI, as it’s inferred in the game that she “contacted” other pilots before C4-621.
If you want to see the hidden trailer, go over to this site and enter “42M023D C023” (don’t forget the space!).

The hidden trailer also shows Keanu with a Raven tattoo on his back, which may indicate that he could also be connected to Nightfall, if the Armored Core VI connection holds.
Alternatively, this just could be a mishmash of various ideas from multiple Armored Core games and I am just over thinking it.
The mecha themselves look interesting. They have the hangar setup from Armored Core V, which also made it into Armored Core VI, with weapons stored on the shoulders that can be swapped out during combat.
Interestingly, the laser blade shown in the trailer is equipped on the right arm, whereas those tend to be left-handed weapons in the games, but that’s just me being nerdy.
In any case, I am curious to see all the various episodes of this Secret Level series, even though it’s a bit surreal for me as a lifelong Armored Core fan to see the game featured.
Secret Level is released December 10 via Amazon Prime.
