Sabrina Carpenter Manages An Impressive Feat Thanks To Love From Pop Radio
by Hugh McIntyre · ForbesIn the span of just a few months, Sabrina Carpenter has become one of the hottest pop stars on the planet. She’s scored several huge hits from her latest album, Short N’ Sweet, which have all received strong support from DJs at pop radio stations across the U.S. That love is evident this week with just a quick glance at the list of the top performers at top 40 radio spots throughout the nation.
Carpenter claims a trio of top 10 hits on this week’s Pop Airplay chart. That’s not a common sight, and it’s a showing that is typically reserved for only the most successful acts in the notoriously competitive top 40 space—and now, that description fits the Grammy nominee perfectly.
The singer doesn’t only score three smashes inside the uppermost region on the Pop Airplay list, she actually bookends the loftiest space as well. The short—and apparently sweet—musician even manages to sit at Nos. 1 and 10 at the same time, a bit of coincidence that underlines her current domination of the airwaves.
“Taste” is still in charge of the Pop Airplay chart at the moment, and it’s steady on top. The single has now ruled for five frames out of the 20 it has spent somewhere on the ranking of the 40 most successful cuts at pop radio in the U.S.
The latest single from Short N’ Sweet, titled “Bed Chem,” reaches the top 10 on the Pop Airplay chart for the first time this week, as an older focus track from the same album continues to reign supreme. “Bed Chem” lifts one slot to No. 10, earning Carpenter her sixth career placement inside that most important space on the tally.

In between her current No. 1 and her brand new top 10 comes yet another radio smash from Carpenter. “Espresso” is steady at No. 8 this week on the Pop Airplay roster. That’s an impressive position for a song that has now spent 39 frames on the tally.
That caffeinated cut is the second-longest-running smash still living inside the top 10 on the Pop Airplay chart at the moment. “Espresso” fails to match the current record, held by Hozier’s “Too Sweet,” by just one frame.
