‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Gets Digital Streaming Premiere Date

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice—Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel to the classic Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder original—is coming soon to digital streaming.

The sequel to 1988’s supernatural comedy smash, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice opened in theaters on September 6. Keaton reprises his role as the title character in the sequel, a bio-exorcist who tried to scare the Deetz family out of their house in Winter River, Connecticut, in the original film.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice finds Lydia Deetz (Ryder) and her stepmother, Delia (Catherine O’Hara) returning to Winter River for the funeral of the Deetz family patriarch, Charles.

Joining the two are Lydia’s rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid (Jenna Ortega) and Lydia’s boyfriend, Rory (Justin Theroux), and inevitably one of them says “Beetlejuice” out loud three times to summon “The Ghost with the Most” from the Afterlife to wreak more havoc.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice also stars Monica Bellucci as Beetlejuice’s vengeful ex-wife, Delores and Willem Dafoe as a deceased actor who has taken his roles as a detective way too seriously.

According to When to Stream, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will debut on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, October 8. While typically accurate with its reports, the streaming tracker did not note whether Warner Bros. announced or confirmed the release date, so it is subject to change.

Per a PVOD pre-order listing of th.e movie on Prime Video, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be available to purchase for $24.99. Since digital rentals typically run $5 less, viewers can expect to rent the film for $19.99 for a 48-hour period. Prime Video notes that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be available on PVOD at 9 p.m. PT on October 7, which is 12 a.m. , October 8, on the East Coast.

Apart from Prime Video, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be available on various digital platforms including AppleTV+ and VUDU.

How Was ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Received By Audiences And Critics’?

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has become a huge global hit since its release on September 6. According to The Numbers, the film has earned $250.1 million domestically and $123.2 internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $373 million to date.

The box office tracker noted that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice had a production budget of $100 million before prints and advertising.

Rotten Tomatoes critics collectively gave Beetlejuice Beetlejuice a 77% “fresh” rating based on 337 reviews. The RT Critics’ Consensus reads, “Michael Keaton's devious poltergeist still has plenty of juice left in this madcap return to form for Tim Burton, marrying charming practical effects and ghoulish gags to provide a fun fun time.”

RT users, meanwhile, gave the movie an 80% “fresh” rating based on 10,000-plus reviews.

Rated PG-13, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is playing in theaters and debuts on PVOD on October 8.
