Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor Assumes Charge as Vice Chief of Air Staff
by Northlines · NorthlinesNew Delhi, Jan 1: Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor on Thursday took charge as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS) of the Indian Air Force at Vayu Bhawan here.
Prior to his appointment, Air Marshal Kapoor served as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Air Command. He succeeds Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, who superannuated on Wednesday after nearly four decades of distinguished service.
The Indian Air Force said Air Marshal Kapoor, commissioned into the Flying Branch in December 1986, brings with him extensive operational experience, having flown a wide range of fighter and trainer aircraft during his career.
On assuming charge, Air Marshal Kapoor was accorded a Guard of Honour and later laid a wreath at the National War Memorial, paying tribute to the fallen heroes. (Agencies)
