J&K: Security Forces Launch Search Ops in Rajouri Villages

RAJOURI/JAMMU, Dec 19: Security forces have launched extensive search operations in several villages of Rajouri district following reports of suspicious movement in the area, official sources said on Friday.

The operation began around midnight on Thursday and is continuing, after inputs were received about suspicious persons moving in villages located between the Thanamandi and Manjakote subdivisions of the district in Jammu division.

Acting on the information, joint teams of the 49 Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Special Operations Group cordoned off the suspected areas during the night, the sources said.

The search operation was resumed at daybreak, with intensified combing and aggressive searches underway in multiple locations, including the Behrote Gali area, they added. (Agencies)
