3 Flights Cancelled At Srinagar Airport Due To Delhi NOTAM
by Northlines · NorthlinesSrinagar, Jan 22: At least three flights operating to and from Srinagar Airport were cancelled on Thursday following the issuance of a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) at Delhi Airport in connection with Republic Day security arrangements, officials said.
According to a passenger advisory issued by Srinagar Airport authorities, the cancellations were caused by operational restrictions at Delhi Airport, a key aviation hub linking Kashmir with the rest of the country. The affected services were scheduled on the Srinagar–Delhi sector during the day.
Airport officials advised passengers to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience, expressing regret over the disruption caused to travellers.
The cancellations resulted in inconvenience to several passengers, many of whom had arrived at the airport early in the morning amid freezing weather conditions. Some passengers were seen waiting inside the terminal, while others approached airline counters seeking rebooking and updates.
Officials said such disruptions are common during major national events due to heightened security measures and temporary airspace restrictions. Passengers were urged to stay in contact with airlines for revised schedules and alternate arrangements.
No additional cancellations were immediately announced, though officials said flight operations would continue to remain subject to air traffic clearance at Delhi Airport during the Republic Day period. (KNT)
