Air India flight from Mumbai carrying 175 persons on board makes emergency landing in Bhopal
by Northlines · NorthlinesBHOPAL, Apr 27: An Air India flight from Mumbai carrying 175 passengers made an emergency landing at Bhopal airport on Sunday after reporting a technical snag mid-air, officials said.
The aircraft landed safely at around 3:20 pm, an airport official confirmed, adding that all passengers and crew were unharmed.
According to airport authorities, flight AI 633 alerted Air Traffic Control about the issue during its journey from Mumbai to Bhopal. Following the alert, standard safety protocols were immediately activated, ensuring coordinated action between ATC, airline ground staff, CISF personnel and the airport’s fire and rescue team.
As a result of the incident, the return flight from Bhopal to Mumbai, which had 178 passengers booked, was cancelled.
Officials said the situation was handled swiftly and efficiently, with no disruption to passenger safety.
