Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi Hails India AI Impact Summit as Global Turning Point
by Northlines · NorthlinesNew Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the India AI Impact Summit marked a global turning point in how the world will harness artificial intelligence, highlighting India’s technological capabilities, cultural preservation through AI, and indigenous AI models during his Mann Ki Baat broadcast on Akashvani.
He noted that world leaders, tech CEOs, innovators and startup stakeholders gathered at Bharat Mandapam for the summit, where exhibitions showcased AI applications in agriculture, animal care and preservation of ancient manuscripts. Mr Modi said displays such as AI-enabled dairy management at the Amul booth and digitisation of the Sushrut Samhita impressed global delegates. The process demonstrated restoration of manuscript images, conversion into machine-readable text, AI-avatar narration and multilingual translation of ancient knowledge.
The Prime Minister said India also launched three Made-in-India AI models and described the event as the biggest AI summit ever, congratulating citizens on its success.
Referring to the ongoing T-20 World Cup, he highlighted the strong presence of Indian-origin players in teams such as Canada, the US and Oman, calling it a hallmark of Indianness and the diaspora’s continued bond with their roots.
Mr Modi also lauded the parents of Kerala infant Aalin Sherin Abraham for organ donation, citing rising awareness in India, and shared stories of transplant recipients such as Lakshmi Devi, Gaurang Banerjee and Ramdev Singh who achieved major physical feats after surgery.
He announced that a statue of C Rajagopalachari will be unveiled at Rashtrapati Bhavan during Rajaji Utsav, replacing that of British architect Edwin Lutyens, along with an exhibition from February 24 to March 1.
Warning against digital fraud and “digital arrest” scams, the Prime Minister urged people to avoid sharing OTPs or banking details and to follow RBI guidance on KYC updates.
Highlighting agricultural innovation, he cited Odisha farmer Hirod Patel’s integrated pond-farming model and a Kerala village cultivating 570 rice varieties, noting India’s emergence as the world’s largest rice producer with over 150 million tonnes. He also mentioned export of GI-tagged products such as Nanjangud bananas and Mysuru betel leaves to Maldives.
The Prime Minister referred to revival of Kerala’s Mamangam (Kerala Kumbh) festival, recalled former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa ahead of her birth anniversary, encouraged students before exams, and extended greetings for Ramzan and Holi while reiterating the call for Vocal for Local.
