Governor Kavinder calls on Dental Professionals to Serve Nation with Skill, Compassion & Technology

Sunder Nagar (H.P), May 7: The Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh Kavinder Gupta today called on dental professionals to serve the nation with skill, compassion and technology. He urged the young dental graduates to carry quality oral healthcare to the remotest corners of Himachal Pradesh and beyond, stressing that dental health is an inseparable pillar of public health and national development.
The Governor made these remarks while addressing the Annual Day and Prize Distribution Function of Himachal Dental College, held here today in the presence of a distinguished gathering of academicians, medical professionals, students and their families. On the occasion, Rakesh Jamwal, MLA Sunder Nagar; Apoorva Devgan, Deputy Commissioner Mandi; Vinod Kumar, Superintendent of Police Mandi; Smt. Santosh Gupta, Chairperson, Himachal Dental College; Dr. Anil Singla and Dr. Vikas Jindal, Directors; and Dr. Baljit Singh, Principal, along with other distinguished guests.
Kavinder Gupta stressed that the future of dentistry lies at the intersection of technology and humanity. He urged students to embrace digital dentistry, AI-assisted diagnostics and modern treatment protocols, while never losing sight of empathy and ethical practice — the bedrock of the medical profession.
Emphasising the role of youth in national development, the Governor said that India’s demographic strength is its greatest asset, and it is the responsibility of every educated young professional to contribute meaningfully to the vision of a Viksit Bharat. He called upon the institution to strengthen community dental camps, school oral health programmes and outreach into rural panchayats.
Later, the Governor also inaugurated the college’s modern new Dental Van, which will serve as a mobile healthcare unit for rural and far-flung communities of the region.
Earlier, the Director of the College, Dr. Anil Singla welcomed the Governor and all guests, highlighting the Governor’s achievements and expressing full confidence in the bright future of Himachal Pradesh under his leadership.
Principal Dr. Baljit Singh then presented the Annual Report, detailing the college’s achievements in academic excellence, research, sports and community service. The Annual Day witnessed the felicitation of meritorious students across clinical and academic disciplines. Prizes and certificates were awarded to toppers and outstanding performers, drawing enthusiastic applause from the packed auditorium.
The function concluded with a vibrant cultural programme presented by students, followed by a vote of thanks.
