SABLO flags concerns over langar permissions for Amarnath Yatra

Ludhiana: The Shri Amarnath Barfani Langars Organisation (SABLO) has raised serious objections to the revised process for granting permissions to langar organisations for Amarnath Yatra 2026, alleging lack of transparency and clarity.

SABLO said the earlier Expression of Interest (EOI)-based system has been discontinued without explanation, making the selection process opaque. It pointed out that no eligibility criteria, evaluation parameters, or clear methodology have been disclosed, while provisions allowing rejection without reasons raise concerns of arbitrariness.

The organisation also highlighted the removal of financial safeguards and the non-issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for 2025, calling it a major issue as NOCs were mandatory for future participation.

It warned that the delayed application deadline of March 25 and absence of timelines for scrutiny and approvals could disrupt planning and logistics, affecting services for pilgrims.

SABLO expressed apprehension that experienced organisations may be sidelined in favour of less experienced ones, potentially impacting service quality.

Demanding immediate corrective steps, SABLO called for restoration of the earlier transparent system, disclosure of selection criteria, and fair consideration of established organisations. It also sought a personal hearing, warning that the current process could lead to disputes and inefficiencies.
