The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is an innovative device with an ultra-thin build, vibrant display, and years of guaranteed software support. The phone was a bit too expensive at launch, but the current Best Buy deal is shaving $450 off the retail price, knocking the S25 Edge down to a much more reasonable $649.99.

A luxury smartphone at a midrange price

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge premiered in May 2025 with a gorgeous 6.7-inch AMOLED display, solid performance from a Snapdragon chip, and 12GB of RAM right out of the carton. Like many Samsung phones, the Edge also came with seven years of OS and security upgrades guaranteed (six updates remain in 2026).

The main selling point, however, was the phone’s ultra-thin design. Clocking in at just 5.8mm thick, the Galaxy S25 Edge was one of the thinnest devices of its time. It weighed considerably less than other phones in the S25 lineup, while the lightweight design paired with the vibrant display and titanium build produced an experience that I could only describe as pure luxury.

The Galaxy S25 Edge also kicked off Samsung’s trend of engineering devices that were as thin and lightweight as possible. You can detect the presence of the phone in newer devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy S26 Ultra, so while the Galaxy S25 Edge may have been forgotten by history, its legacy lives on.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Android innovation or a case of style over substance?

Of course, all of that extra weight had to go somewhere. The phone’s 3,900mAh battery was a major turnoff for some potential buyers, even if our testing showed that the Galaxy S25 Edge consistently lasted up to a full day on a single charge.

The camera tech was also pretty basic, and the Edge lacked a telephoto lens, which was disappointing when you considered the steep price tag.

In fact, I’d argue that the price tag was the final nail in the coffin for the Galaxy S25 Edge. Why spend $1,100 on a smartphone with lackluster battery life and a subpar camera? Pair these issues with the launch of the similarly-thin iPhone Air just a few months later, and it's no surprise that the Galaxy S25 Edge was largely forgotten.

At full price, the Galaxy S25 Edge seemed like a tough sell. Slap on a $450 discount at Best Buy, however, and buying the phone becomes a much more compelling prospect. This is a sleek, lightweight device that I think every Android fan should experience, and with this hefty discount from Best Buy, the price is (finally) right.
