Some Pixel owners just found another free year of Google AI Pro hiding in their accounts

If you got a free year of Google AI Pro when you bought your Pixel 10 Pro last year, then you've probably come to the end of your free trial now. Except, have you?

A number of people have discovered they're being offered another free year of Google's paid AI plan, on top of the one they've already had. While Google being generous hasn't been ruled out, it seems more likely this is a weird oversight or glitch in the system.

A potential saving of $240

Google Pixel 10 Pro owners were offered a year of Google's AI Pro plan for free when they bought their phones, and for those who bought their phones around launch, that free trial would have recently ended.

If you're anything like me, then re-upping that subscription was an extremely tall order, especially at the high price of $20 a month. However, it seems that even those who like it, may not have to pay for it after all.

According to a post on the r/GooglePixel subreddit, you may be able to get another one. User Klecktacular was offered an additional 12 month-long free trial, which they were then able to redeem.

You might assume this is simply someone who forgot to redeem their initial offer and is lying about it for internet points, but others are claiming it also worked for them.

It does seem likely this is an unintentional piece of generosity from Google, largely because of where the offer can be redeemed. Some, like the original poster, found the offer in the My Pixel app. Others found it in the Google One app instead. So the chances of this being a real offer from Google seem slim.

That said, this offer was hard to redeem when it first came out, so this could just be a holdover from those confused days.

Regardless, we imagine Google will be a good sport and allow anyone who managed to "redeem" the second offer their free time.

Though, missing out on this offer isn't likely to be a big problem for most people. If you allowed this subscription to lapse after the first free trial, then it's likely you didn't see enough value in it to keep paying. Another free trial is basically just for fun. So I wouldn't sweat it if you're not able to get this.
