If the Pixel 11 is on your radar, register ahead of the event to stay one step ahead

We're just a little over a week away from the upcoming Pixel event set to take place on August 12. We've seen leaks for a couple of months now, but even Google is starting to tease what's coming, showing off the Pixel 11 Pro and 11 Pro Fold on its official YouTube page.

As you can imagine, people are excited about Google's next phones, especially with the possibility of a notification light returning with the Pixel 11 Pro. The Made by Google event will take place on August 12 at 6pm ET / 3pm PT. But there are now multiple countdown timers from retailers that are set to end ahead of the start of the official event (via Android Authority).

Personally, I don't think that preorders for the phones are going to start early. Instead, I believe that this is when the campaigns for early registration will close in order to get special promotional offers. The Google Store website states that you can get exclusive offers by signing up.

It's a bit clearer when navigating to Best Buy's dedicated portal for the Pixel. Reading the fine print on the Best Buy website, it states, "Sign up by 8/11/26 at 11:59 p.m. CT with a valid email address to receive a one-time code which can be used toward the purchase of select new Google Pixel 11 Series phones."

So, if you want to gain access to an exclusive promotion for the phone, you'll want to sign up ahead of the event. We don't know if there's going to be a direct discount with this promotion or a credit on some accessories, but signing up doesn't hurt. There's really nothing to lose here because you don't need to purchase the phone if you don't want it.

We know that Google has a pretty stacked lineup of phones this year, and all eyes will most likely be focused on the Pixel 11 Pro. However, Google could surprise us with a new accessory called the Pixel Tag. We don't know much about at the moment, but it could be the first smart tag offered by Google directly.

We've seen offerings from Samsung, Motorola, and other brands, but Google could be something really special with its own iteration. Luckily, we won't have to wait long to find out. Again, the event is set to take place on August 12. It will be interesting to see if Google has something extra in store to surprise its fans.
